Coming To Edmond Town Hall
On October 9, the PurpleStride Danbury 2010 Committee will be hosting a Zumbathon for pancreatic cancer awareness. The event will take place at the Edmond Town Hall gym, 45 Main Street, and is open to the public.
Registration will begin at 3 pm and Zumba will be from 3:30 to 5 pm. All proceeds will go to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
PurpleStride Danbury was formed by four local women; Kristen Angell, Julie Dunn, Ellen Klaus and Karen Rowe, in memory of loved ones they have lost to pancreatic cancer. In November of 2009 they held this areaâs first walk for pancreatic cancer Awareness.
Paula Cardinale of Danbury was honorary chair and continues to be the womenâs inspiration as she courageously battles this cancer.
PurpleStride Danbury 2010 will also hold its 2nd Annual Walk on November 7, at the Danbury Fair Mall. Registration begins at 7 am, opening ceremonies at 8:30, followed by a 2.5-mile walk/run. Registration and/or donations can be made through www.purplestride.org.
