RUSSELL is a 5-6-year-old boxer-mix who is a lot like an old man, set in his ways. He came to the pound filthy and scared, but has made quite a turn-around since he arrived. It takes him some time to  warm up to new people — and he’d prefer to be the only pet — but once he’s settled in he’s a great dog to be around.

He’d make a perfect sidekick for a single guy or gal, who likes an athletic dog without an overwhelming energy level.

But like an old man, he can sometimes be a bit stubborn and needs someone willing to let him know who is boss when it’s necessary.

Though he’s a little gray in the beard, he has plenty of life left in him, and the pound volunteers say he makes a great jogging partner.
