To The Editor:

When we choose a state senator, we are choosing the person who will speak for us, the residents, when important decisions are made in Hartford. I want that person to understand the challenges facing ordinary families and to know how to get things done. That is why I am voting for Rob Blanchard.

Rob lives in Newtown with his wife and young son. He understands how difficult it has become to pay for childcare, healthcare, housing, groceries, and utilities because he and his family face the same pressures we all do.

He also brings real experience to the job. Rob has served in local government and as Deputy Majority Leader of Fairfield’s Representative Town Meeting. He knows that every state mandate, funding decision, and policy change eventually reaches our town budgets and kitchen tables.

Rob is not running simply to hold office. He is running to make Connecticut more affordable, protect our strong schools, and ensure that Newtown, Bethel, Easton, and Fairfield all receive the attention and resources they deserve.

I appreciate that Rob listens, works collaboratively, and stays focused on practical results. He will bring energy, knowledge, and a much-needed family perspective to the State Senate.

Please join me in supporting Rob Blanchard on November 3.
