Celebrating Charles E. Ives’ Birth

DANBURY — On Sunday, October 19, Danbury Music Centre will present the latest of its annual series of fun and educational events to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of famous Danbury composer Charles E. Ives. Hosts Nancy F. Sudik and Larry Deming, along with guest musicians and the staff of the Danbury Museum, will offer a day devoted to the music and life of Charles E. Ives.

The schedule of events includes a hike up Pine Mountain from 9:30 to 11:30 am, lunch at Ives’ birthplace and a tour of his home from noon to 2 pm, a visit to his grave from 2 to 3 pm, and a concert at the music center from 4 to 5 pm.

As in previous years, participants can choose some or all activities. Pre-registration is required for everything except the concert.
