Parents, teachers, or educators concerned about the challenging opportunities available for their academically talented children or students should plan to attend Gifted Connections, informational meetings held locally and sponsored by SIG. During the meetings, experts discuss issues affecting gifted education such as motivation, identification, social and emotional needs, programming and partnership between schools and parents.

The next Gifted Connection in the Newtown area is at the Hofstra University Club in Hempstead, N.Y., on November 19. The event runs from 7:30 to 9 pm. Spaces are limited; advance registration is recommended. Register by calling Amanda Ritz toll-free at 866-303-4744 or emailing, aritz@aifs.com. Parents and educators can also learn more about Gifted Connections at www.giftedstudy.com.
