Charles R. Budd passed away peacefully on September 27, 2023, with his wife Andy at his side, after a long battle with heart disease.

He was born on September 22, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Frank and Helen Balugusius, both deceased.

His sister Patricia, is also deceased.

His family moved to Danbury, Connecticut when Charlie was a teenager. He graduated from Danbury High School and went on to receive a master’s degree in education from Southern Connecticut State University.

He worked many years at the Newtown Middle School in Newtown, Connecticut as a special education teacher. Charlie loved his students, his job, and he deeply enjoyed his teaching colleagues. He helped so many students, students that needed a little extra understanding, and Charlie provided that for them. His friends and colleagues loved his warm personality and his infectious laugh, which filled the room.

Among his friends he was known for his superior cooking talents. His Super Bowl weekend menus were memorable.

In 2004, Charlie and his wife, Andy, moved to Vermont where he enjoyed gardening, skiing and discovered a passion for golf.

Per Charlie’s request, there will be no funeral. His ashes will be scattered in the ocean along the coast in Maine. A Mass will be held, in his name, at a later date.
