Let’s talk common sense. It doesn’t matter a whole lot whether Jeff Capeci is a Democrat, a Republican or Unaffiliated. (He’s a Republican.) The fact is … Jeff is Newtown personified and the perfect choice for our next First Selectman.

Jeff is a great family man, a hiker and marathon runner; he’s a team leader and negotiator at the international firm where he works. Most importantly for us, for nearly two decades he has served this town — first as a school parent, a rising civic leader (Chair, Charter Revision), then moving to town leadership (Chair, Legislative Council).

These titles, and others, were earned by serving well on a committee or commission — and moving up.

It’s time for Jeff to move up again, to the most important position in our town — First Selectman. He has earned his stripes here, too, during several terms as part of our town’s three-person Board of Selectmen.

He has deserved every position. Jeff is distinctly bipartisan. He’s talented. He listens. And he quietly supports the best things for our town. Please join me in electing him to lead our town.
