To the Editor:

I feel so lucky to have Jahana Hayes as my representative in Congress!

Jahana is dedicated to everyone in Connecticut’s 5th Congressional district. She is fighting for you and me, not for the rich corporations or mega donors.

One of the areas where Jahana is working for us is health care. Jahana understands that health care costs are a burden on many people.

She is working to make sure everyone can have affordable equitable health care. She voted to lower health insurance premiums under the Affordable Care Act, and supports proposals to move towards universal health care.

She voted for legislation to ban surprise billing and cap insulin costs. She helped pass the Inflation Reduction Act, which allows Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices, caps out of pocket costs, and penalizes manufacturers who raise drug prices too quickly.

She is also working to expand community mental health services.

And it’s not just health care. Jahana is working to end hunger in Connecticut; to support business owners and make sure all workers earn a livable wage; to protect our district’s natural beauty; to provide a path to citizenship for Dreamers; and to make sure our schools have the resources they need to provide a quality education so that all our children will be prepared for a productive future.

Jahana knows what it’s like to struggle in Connecticut, and she wants to make sure everyone in our district and our country has the opportunity to succeed. Please join me in voting for Jahana Hayes for Congress.
