To the Editor:

I am writing this in support of Joan Plouffe as she runs for reelection to the Newtown Police Commission. I know Joan as a great supporter of our community, never hesitating to lend a hand to anyone. Having grown up in Newtown Public Schools, I have watched Joan be constantly involved and invested in the growth of our students and the well-being of our families and residents in general. I am grateful for her encouragement in my own journey from Newtown High School to my first year in college, and I know that she has done the same for countless others.

As touched as I am to her service to our schools, I know that her work extends so much further. With a background in law and experience in varying aspects of our town, like the Commission on Aging and Charter Revision Committee, it is clear to me that Joan is an outstanding member of our community and an amazing candidate for the Police Commission.

I believe that Joan is a representation of all the great things about Newtown’s strong community. I am honored to be able to champion her during my first time voting, and I hope that you join me. This November, vote Joan Plouffe for the Newtown Police Commission.
