Lynch
Barbara (Clancy) Lynch, the beloved wife of Thomas F. Lynch for the past 62 years, and a resident of the Lordship section of Stratford for the past 50 years, died October 8 in Bridgeport Hospital.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Margaret, wife of Robert Fiscella of Newtown.
Mrs Lynch was the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Mary Clancy. She spent the first 32 years of her life in the East End section of Bridgeport, where she was born, June 22, 1917, and graduated from Blessed Sacrament Grammar School and Harding High School. After graduating in 1935, Mrs Lynch secured employment as a typist at Remington-DuPont. She married Thomas, September 9, 1939, and in 1941 resigned from Remington-DuPont to become a mother and homemaker.
Mrs Lynch has a family of seven children. In addition to her daughter, she is survived by five other daughters: Maureen, wife of Jon Ringel of Fairfield; Bernadette Lynch of Stratford; Sister Deborah Lynch of the Sisters of St Dominic of Caldwell, N.J.; Bridget, wife of James Pardee of Hopedale, Mass.; Barbara Golino of Milford; her son, the Reverend Thomas F. Lynch, pastor of St James Roman Catholic Church in Stratford; 16 grandchildren, Jon, Marna, Marcy, Margaret and T.J. Ringel, Marisa (Ringel) Soderlund, Danielle, Darby, Dana, and Deidra Golino, Christopher and Jamie Pardee, Tara, John Andrew and Darcy Fiscella; a great-grandchild, Cooper Soderlund; several nieces and nephews; and a sister, Rita, wife of Charles Craig, of Vero Beach, Fla. A sister, Geraldine, and a brother, Stuart, predeceased her.
Mrs Lynch was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother as well as a confidant to her family and to her grandchildren. They were her life. She had a keen interest in all their activities. She maintained a home that was always open to her friends and those of her children. She made her home a pleasant place to visit and to be entertained and refreshed. Her legacy is her children and grandchildren she leaves behind. During these past 20 months, she showed strength, fortitude, and a deep faith in the Lord during her suffering. She expressed to her granddaughters that her life was going to change. She told them she was not afraid and she was at peace with the change. She was ready to go but sad to leave us.
