To the Editor:

Fun-tober Fest was fun for all! On October 5th, Merryhill Child Care Center Inc and Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, two local nonprofit organizations, co-hosted Fun-tober Fest, a community fundraiser event at NVA/Fairfield Hills Campus. It was a great pleasure to see children and adults of all ages enjoying the spectacular variety of vehicles, food, and activities.

We would like to thank everyone who attended and supported this fantastic event. We would also like to extend a tremendous Thank You to the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps for their wonderful support and for allowing us the use of their beautiful facility and grounds. Sincere appreciation goes to Franco’s Pizza & Pasta of Newtown for the delicious pizza and desserts and to Cheri and John Ross for the water donation. Thank You to Newtown Arbor Services, Newtown Hook and Ladder, Newtown Public Works Department, Hilario’s Service Center, Modzelewski’s Towing and Recovery Inc, Sippin Energy, All-Star Transportation, Pete Lawler, National Guard 142nd Medical Company, and Newtown Police Department for allowing the children (and adults) to explore and enjoy your vehicles. Thank You, also, to Newtown Youth Academy, Music-Together, Newtown Strong Therapy Dogs, and Newtown Police K9 Unit and Aris for their participation and exciting interactive demonstrations.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the many volunteers and, of course, to the Merryhill staff, families, alumni, and Board of Directors for your ongoing support and dedication to our center. We are already beginning to plan for next year’s fabulous Fun-tober Fest event with Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and in October 2020, Merryhill will also look forward to celebrating 30 years of providing loving and quality childcare to Newtown families and surrounding towns.
