To the Editor:

It is great pleasure that I endorse David Schill for Legislative Council for District 2. David is a 19-year resident of Newtown with his wife, Sandy (Scheibel) Schill, and daughter, Amelia. He has deep ties to the area and wants to get involved to make a difference.

David has degrees in Ocean Engineering, Marine Biology, and Civil Engineering. He is presently the vice president of operations for Mohawk Northeast Inc. He has worked with numerous local municipalities as well as at the state level for Connecticut and other neighboring states. He has negotiated contracts and helped develop projects throughout the state. David understands how to work with state and local officials to get the job done. It is with this experience that he would be a valuable asset to the Legislative Council.

David has concerns for the rising taxes that the residents of Connecticut are being subjected to. He has seen firsthand what they are doing to our economy and wants to use his experience to improve this at a local level. He believes in investing in our schools and community while also being fiscally responsible. He is tired of partisan politics and wants to see the needs of the community met and will work tirelessly to do so.

As a long-term resident who raised a family here, I believe that David cares greatly about Newtown and its residents. I believe that his many years of experience with contract negotiating for a major construction company, and his knowledge of local and state regulations will be invaluable for the council and the betterment of Newtown.

For this reason and many others, I highly recommend David Schill for second district of the Legislative Council.
