To the Editor:

I am writing to endorse Ryan Knapp for reelection to the Legislative Council. Through the six years that Ryan has been on the Legislative Council, he has shown his interest and devotion to our town by not only attending council meetings, but also by partaking in numerous other town meetings, so that he gets the complete picture of the issues that confront the council. I have also seen him at many activities and functions, like the couple of days he helped planting the walking trail at Fairfield Hills. Being a resident of Newtown since birth, I think he truly cares about where our community is headed.

He has worked on updating the Senior Tax Abatement, which is now one of the most generous in the state, helping seniors to stay in Newtown. For the younger members of our community he has served as Council Representative for two BOE contract negotiations. When the Community Center was being built, he pushed for collaboration between all of the people who would potentially be using the facility, so that the town could get an overall better product to serve everyone in the best way.

On Election Day, Vote Ryan!
