To the Editor:

Sara Frampton is a candidate for the Board of Education. Do not be fooled because she is only 26 and does not have any children. I met Sara several years ago and am amazed at what she has accomplished during that short time.

Sara was born and raised here in Newtown. She went through our school system. She attended Newtown High during the last addition process. She has a unique understanding of what will be facing our students during this process. Sara has a master’s in elementary education and a certificate of educational technology from Sacred Heart University. She is currently teaching second grade and a technology integration specialist for preschool through grade 8 at St Mary in Milford.

During Sara’s college years, she was employed by the Transportation Department of Newtown’s Board of Education (while Mary Kelly was director). She drove the Board of Education bus and was a sub driver for the full-size busses. She could be helpful with some of our transportation issues.

Sara is a great communicator. She asks questions until she fully understands the situations then charts her course and moves forward. Sara is not a rubber stamper. She expects her questions to be answered and respects your right to answers as well. Sara is a person of integrity and has a high standard of ethics.

Because Sara is a teacher at a Catholic School, she is not affiliated with any unions. She knows what is required to teach all levels of students to the best of their abilities. She is also used to working with a limited budget.

Sara does have a personal agenda. She graduated from Newtown High when it was a Blue Ribbon School and she wants all students to have that privilege. She wants all children to grow to their full potential. She wants what is best for Newtown. Please join me, vote November 6, vote for Newtown’s future, Sara Frampton.

Sincerely,

Nancy Schreiner
