To the Editor:

I am writing to endorse Brennan Coakley for Newtown’s Board of Education.

I have known the Coakley family for over 25 years, and have been impressed by the good qualities that Brennan has developed. I couldn’t have been happier to find out that one of Newtown’s own had come back to town and quickly decided to take an active role. We need this generation involved because it is their children who will benefit. Newtown is lucky to have a bright and capable candidate like Brennan Coakley for this position.

Brennan and my children enjoyed the same school experience growing up in Newtown when the focus was on what was best for students: a solid education with direct communication between the schools and parents. Brennan will bring back common sense principles with the goal of getting Newtown recognized as a Blue Ribbon School District again!

Please join me on Tuesday in casting a vote for Brennan Coakley and the promising future of Newtown Schools.
