‘Stop Stress Now and Forever’ By Author, G. Gaynor McTigue

BRIDGEPORT — Don’t get stressed out! “Women at Heart” at the Regina L. Cozza Center is sponsoring a free talk open to members and nonmembers entitled, “Stop Stress Now and Forever” as part of its 2006 fall lecture series.

The program will take place on Wednesday, November 15, from 6 to 7:30 pm, in the Community Room of the Trumbull Westfield Shopping Mall.

Author G. Gaynor “Jerry” McTigue will offer creative ways to manage life’s stresses using the same breakthrough strategies contained in his latest book, 400 Ways to Stop Stress Now . . . and Forever. Mr McTigue is the author of six books, including the bestselling Life’s Little Frustration Book series (St Martin’s Press), which have been featured on hundreds of radio and TV shows throughout the United States and Canada,

Based on the same breakthrough strategies contained in 400 Ways to Stop Stress Now...and Forever!, Mr McTigue conducts life-altering stress elimination workshops for groups and organizations

He has written numerous articles and essays that help people improve the quality and enjoyment of their lives His work has appeared in major city newspapers and national magazines and he is a former columnist for America Online and a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors.

Effects of Stress

“Stress negatively affects our overall wellness in so many ways that we truly cannot deny our need to make fighting it a major priority,” says Mr McTigue, adding, “After all, stress reduction techniques are virtually risk-free precautions that may result in significant reductions in heart attacks and lowered risks for heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, stroke, gastrointestinal disorders, depression, anxiety, infections, cancer, eating problems, diabetes, headaches, muscular and joint pain, sleep disturbances, reproductive dysfunction, sexual dysfunction, memory loss, allergies, skin disorders, unexplained hair loss, and periodontal disease.

“Basically,” he concludes, “along with regular visits to your doctor, a healthful diet and an exercise program, stress reduction, or, even better, stress elimination, could be your ticket to overall wellness and a healthy heart.”
