26th Annual Holiday Exhibition & Sale

Opens At Brookfield Craft Center

BROOKFIELD — Each year more than 15,000 area shoppers flock to what has become the region’s largest and highest quality exhibition and sale of handmade craftwork: the annual Brookfield Craft Center Holiday Exhibition & Sale. The event features over 10,000 items made by more than 300 American artisans.

This year’s event runs daily through December 31. The sale will only be closed Thanksgiving and Christmas days. Hours are Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday, noon to 5 pm. Admission is free.

Brookfield Craft Center is on Route 25 just east of the four corners intersection with Route 7/202, a few miles north of exits 7 and 9 of Interstate 84. Call the center at 775-4526 for details or visit its website at www.BrookfieldCraftCenter.org.

This year marks the 26th time the center’s historic grist mill, which overlooks the Still River at Halfway Falls, has been converted into a three-floor extravaganza of handmade designer gifts for all occasions. Shoppers and collectors can spend a whole day exploring the thousands of unique artful gifts on display, many of which are one-of-a-kind, and all of which are made by professional designer/craftsmen.

Potters, jewelers, woodworkers, glassblowers, leather workers, quilters, clothing designers, and many other modern-day craft artisans provide work that is functional, decorative and highly creative. Elegant and artful gifts for the home, office, and wearable art for the body are hallmarks of this major holiday season event which is well known for providing an enjoyable, leisurely (un-mall-type) shopping experience with highly personalized service.

Proceeds from the sale benefit the exhibiting artists and the center’s year-round educational programs.
