Antoinette McCann

Antoinette “Toni” (Catanzaro) McCann, 83, of High Street Extension, Danbury, wife of the late Joseph W. McCann, died at her home on November 1.

She was born in Carbondale, Penn., on June 23, 1921, daughter of the late Aurelio and Anna (DeAntonio) Catanzaro.

A loving and devoted mother, she will be sadly missed by her daughters, Ellen Edwards and her husband Mark of Newtown, Mary Alice Anderson and her husband John of Danbury, and Nancy Morrisroe and her husband Peter of New Milford; her son, Joe McCann and his wife JoAnn of Danbury; eight grandchildren; her sister, Lena Mendecino of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.

Toni was a registered nurse and graduated from St Joseph Hospital in Carbondale, Penn., in 1939. She worked for both Glen Hill and Mediplex in Danbury. She was a parishioner of St Gregory the Great Church in Danbury. She enjoyed opera, reading, and crossword puzzles.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on November 4 at St Gregory the Great Church.

Burial followed in St Peter Cemetery.

The Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
