Someday Cinema Series Planning Three Screenings Of Classic Screwball Comedy

The Someday Cinema Series will screen the sublimely ridiculous Bringing Up Baby (1938) starring Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn, at 1, 4, and 7 pm Sunday, November 17, at Edmond Town Hall Theatre, 45 Main Street in Newtown.

Tickets are $3, and the 1 pm matinee will be shown with captions for the benefit of the hearing impaired.

Cary Grant plays David, an uptight, humorless, and intellectual zoologist hoping for a large donation to fund his projects. He soon collides with Susan Vance (Hepburn), whose charming yet scatterbrained personality stretch the limits of his self-control.

Add a leopard named Baby, and a dog named George who loves to bury just about everything, and the result is a quintessential American screwball comedy, deftly directed by Howard Hawks.

Audiences of all ages will enjoy the delightful fast-paced comedy.
