Many local offices and businesses will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day.

All town offices will be closed on Tuesday.

Residents should note the transfer station at the former landfill on Ethan Allen Road, usually open only for contractors on Mondays, will be open to all permit holders on Monday, November 10. The transfer station will then be closed on Tuesday. It will reopen on Wednesday, November 12.

Newtown Senior Center and C.H. Booth Library will be closed on Tuesday.

Veterans Day is a postal holiday, so there will be no mail delivery on Tuesday, and USPS offices will be closed for the day.

The office of The Newtown Bee will be open on Tuesday.
