Newtown Congregational Church is always grateful for The Bee’s great community-building coverage of local events, including our own. Shannon Hicks’ coverage of NCC’s October 19 Mississippi BBQ and Shrimp Boil to benefit Back Bay Mission in Biloxi, Miss., was especially appreciated. Published before the event, the interview with Matt Cole, now a Back Bay staff member after many years as a faithful volunteer, was informative and insightful, not to mention a great heads up to Matt’s hometown friends and a boon to local attendance at the event.

Shannon’s follow-up article again captured the event and the passion Matt and all of us share for Back Bay Mission and its extraordinary service to its community. That kind of coverage not only celebrates the event but also helps inspire others to support Back Bay or even better, to join the adult work team on its February 24 to March 1 work trip. Many thanks to The Bee and to all who made the evening a great success!
