To the Editor:

My neighbors and I would like to say how happy and relieved we are that P&Z voted unanimously against a second gas station in Hawleyville at last week’s meeting.

It seems that common sense prevailed in understanding that adding a second gas station to an already congested area would not be in the best interest of Hawleyville and Newtown.

I would like to acknowledge James Swift and Corrine Cox especially for seeming to grasp how a second gas station would not be in the best interest of the Hawleyville area. Thank you for standing up to George Benson, who seemed to be doing his best to get this approved.
