A longtime Newtown resident, educator, wife, sister, and friend, Jini Woodies died Thursday, November 14.

A remembrance and celebration of Jini’s life is planned for Friday, December 6, from 4 to 6 pm, at Newtown Country Club. Friends and family are encouraged to join the gathering in December, bringing with them memories and a small toast to Jini.

She loved her house near Lake Zoar, which she shared with her husband and true love, Bob Woodies. A loyal companion was her rescued dog, Camille — the two being company for one another after Mr Woodies died several years ago.

Jini’s gentle and patient nature will be missed by the many people she met in her life, as well as her laughter and warm smile.
