Richard Girgasky

Richard K. Girgasky, 76, longtime Jacksonville, Fla., resident, formerly of Southbury, passed away November 13, following a longtime fight against Parkinson’s.

Richard retired from Curtis Packaging, Sandy Hook, in 1988. He loved baseball and enjoyed many years in the Triple-A league. He played for Gas Stop for many years. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends.

Richard was predeceased by his father, Robert Girgasky; his mother, Helen Girgasky; and his brother, Robert Girgasky.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda of Jacksonville, Fla.; his brother, Ron of Oregon; sons, Richard K. and David of Southbury and Michael of Phoenix, Ariz.; stepson, Chris Martin of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandchildren, Joshua and Michelle of Southbury and Kayla and Joshua of Phoenix, Ariz.; and great-grandson, Alex of Southbury.

A Celebration of Life will be held in late spring in Connecticut.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
