Go Team! — D13 Cheerleaders First In State

Newtown’s D13 cheerleaders won the American Youth Cheer State Competition on November 10 at Shelton High School.

More than 60 teams from across Connecticut competed in various age and skill divisions, and Newtown participated in the four-team D13 Large Red division.

The Newtown squad advances to competed in the New England Regional Competition on Saturday, November 24 at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, RI.

More than 150 teams from New England will compete, including 11 teams in Newtown’s division.

Team members are: Alexia Chester, Jen Uhl, Anna Steare, Abby Pearson, Heather Azzarito, Lexy Leidlein, Ashley Meisenheimer, Romy Gold, Katie McCabe, Raven Truitt, Rose Wheway, Paige Galanis, Sarah Lindell, Kaitlyn Reilly, Grace Baker, Maggie Alexander, Arianna Kuchenbrod, Lindsey Sherwood, Marina Llopis, Rachel Phillips, McKenna Timmons, Danielle Samson, and Caitlin White.
