Signed Meeting House Prints Available

Local artist Ruth Newquist signs a print of her Newtown Meeting House painting for Donald Studley, president of the Heritage Preservation Trust this week. On Sunday, Mrs Newquist will be signing prints of two Newtown scenes from 1-3 pm at The Newtown Bee. The event is part of the town’s annual Holiday Festival. The cost for each print is $25 and all proceeds will be used for the restoration of the organ inside Newtown’s Meeting House, which is operated by the Heritage Preservation Trust, a non-profit organization. The prints will also be on sale at the library and during the Rotary Club’s pancake breakfast on Saturday. Mrs Newquist has been an artist her whole life and has won several  awards for her work. Her watercolor paintings can be found in three New England galleries.
