Durwood E. âNickâ Nickerson, 60, of Simpsonville, S.C., formerly of New Fairfield, died November 25. Born in Farmington, Maine, on December 27, 1945, he was the son of Ernest and Madelene Wood Nickerson.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Nickerson; two sons, Dennis Simonson of Newtown and Greg Simonson of Sumter, S.C.; a daughter, Lisa Arasim of New Milford; 11 grandchildren; and three brothers, David, Francis, and Theodore Nickerson.
Mr Nickerson served his country in the US Navy and until recently was a district sales manager with Hagemayer. He was also a member of St Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Simpsonville.
A funeral Mass was celebrated November 29 at St Mary Magdalene Catholic Church.
