The groups will be at St Rose of Lima, 46 Church Hill Road in Newtown, on Saturday, December 5, at 8 pm, and then at St John’s Episcopal Church, 16 Church Street  in Waterbury, on Sunday, December 6, at 4 pm.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door for both performances.

The first half of the concert will feature seasonal works of a religious and sacred nature. Selections will include Gloria in Excelsis Deo by Mack Wilberg, Magnificat in C by Charles Theodore Pachelbel, Ave Maria by Tomas Luis de Victoria, O Magnum Mysterium by Morten Lauridsen, The First Nowell arranged by David Willcocks, and Hodie, a major chorale work in three movements by Z. Randall Stroope.

The second half will feature more traditional and secular selections such as “Joy to the World” and “Go Tell It On the Mountain” arranged by Paul Halley; “Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day,” arranged by Howard Helvey; “Mary Had a Baby,” arranged by Phillip Kern; and “Christmas Ornaments,” a multi-movement medley which draws upon a wide variety of traditional carols including “Personent Hodie”, “Deck the Halls,” lullaby carols (“Lully, Lullay,” “What Child is This?”), bell carols (“Ding, Dong Merrily on High,” Ukranian Bell Carol”),  “I Wonder As I Wander” and “The Twelve Days of Christmas”.
