Teddy Bears At Burnham Library

BRIDGEWATER — Old teddy bears from Dee Domroe’s personal collection are being exhibited during December at The Burnham Library.

Dee and Wally Domroe, the owners of The Doll Room in Bridgewater, began collecting dolls forty years ago. Twenty-two years ago the couple opened The Doll Room in their home on Route 133 in Bridgewater. They are experts on old dolls.

They began collecting old teddy bears to complement the antique dolls. They have old bears made by Steiff, Hermann Marythought, Deans and others.

The library chose teddy bears for its final exhibit of the year because coordinators felt it was an appropriate theme for the holiday season. Dee and Wally treasure their bears; the more worn the bear, they say, the move evidence that it kept some fond child company.

Burnham Library is on Route 133 in the center of Bridgewater. Hours are Tuesday, 1 to 5 pm; Wednesday, 9 am to 6 pm; Thursday, 9 am to 5 pm; and Saturday, 9 am to 1 pm.
