 CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — The Cedar Rapids Museum of Art will be home to four valuable paintings.

The Cedar Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce accepted a bid to sell paintings it owned by Norman Rockwell, Grant Wood and Marvin Cone. Local groups raised $500,000 to keep the artwork in the city, after the chamber board announced it was going to auction the pieces.

Chamber officials say they will use proceeds from the sale to create a nonendowed donor-advised fund at the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation, which led the art fund drive.

The new fund will be used for community enhancement purposes.
