Asset Allocation Talk At Local Museum

WATERBURY —- The Mattatuck Museum Arts & History Center in collaboration with the nonprofit Society for Financial Awareness is hosting a talk on “Asset Allocation and Modern Portfolio Theory,” as part of the Personal Financial Management lecture series on Thursday, December 17, from 6 to 7 pm.

Presented by James Coleman, president of the Connecticut Chapter of The Society for Financial Awareness, the lecture will teach how to decide where to invest hard-earned money to protect it against interest rate, inflation, and market risks. It will also discuss how to use these choices to meet short, mid-, and long-term goals.

The Personal Financial Management series, held on the third Thursday of each month, focuses on a variety of topics that help people negotiate the complexities of personal life as they relate to finance. “Asset Allocation and Modern Portfolio Theory” on December 17 is the fourth in the series.

Future topics include “Exploring Options for a Quality Retirement,” January 21, and “Women Approaching Retirement and Beyond,” February 18.

Admission is free and includes program materials. Register in advance by calling the museum at 203-753-0381, extension 10, or visit the calendar page on the museum’s website, www.mattatuckmuseum.org.
