Dorothy Jeanne MacKenzie

Beloved Mother

And Sister

Dorothy Jeanne (Guler) MacKenzie, 82, of Southbury, died November 30, at Danbury Hospital. She was born October 3, 1927, daughter of Bertha (Ruetsche) and Roy Guler.

She graduated from Wheaton High School in Illinois and worked as a secretary to the insurance industry in Chicago. She was married to the late Donald MacKenzie for 52 years. They moved to Connecticut in 1966.

Mrs MacKenzie was a volunteer at Waterbury Hospital, and was active at the Middlebury Congregational Church. She moved to Sandy Hook in 1991 and became active in the Newtown United Methodist Church. She worked the election polls for many years in Middlebury and Newtown. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, and starting her day off with Regis and Kelly.

Mrs MacKenzie will be deeply missed by her son, David W. MacKenzie of Newtown, and her daughter, Lynn Clinton and her husband, Dennis, of Bristol; a sister; and a brother.

A funeral service will be held Friday, December 4, at noon, at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main Street North, Southbury. Burial will follow in New North Cemetery, Woodbury. Calling hours were scheduled at the funeral home Friday from 10 am until the time of service.
