What Does Your Town Look Like?

Koenig FrameWorks, at 97 South Main Street, recently challenged amateur photographers across the state with the question “What does your town look like through the lens of a camera?”

In response, the gallery has received 81 photographic submissions and is putting them on view in an exhibition called “Your Town.” The show opened quietly this week and will have its celebratory opening reception on Friday, December 4, from 6 to 9 pm.

Photos needed to be of any town or city within Connecticut.

The competition was open to all Connecticut residents ages 18 and older. Black and white, color, and digital prints were all accepted.

Photos had to be available for purchase.

Awards will be given for first, second and third place photographs. Newtown resident and photographer Bob Berthier was the juror.

The collection will be on view December 4-24, and the gallery will host an opening reception on Friday, December 4, from 6 to 9 pm. Cash prizes will be awarded during the reception.

“Your Town” will remain on view until December 24.

Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm; call 270-1887 or visit KoenigFrameWorks.com for additional information.
