'Sounds Of The Season,' Friday At Trinity Church

Trinity Episcopal Church and Music on the Hill will present “Sounds of the Season,” a Christmas concert with traditional carols from around the world arranged for handbells and chorus, on Friday, December 6, at 7:30 pm.

The program will include “Huron Carol” from Canada, “Three Carols from Bohemia,” British carols arranged by Rutter and Willcocks, “West Indies Carol” for handbells, Franz Biebl’s Ave Maria, “Dona Nobis Pacem” for handbells and chorus.

Also featured will be an original work for handbells, “Winter Acclamation” by Artistic Director David H. Connell, and selections from Benjamin Britten’s Saint Nicolas, and favorite carols to be sung with the audience

Performers for “Sounds of the Season” will include Trinity Church Organist and Music Minister Fiona Smith Sutherland, The Trinity Choristers and Choir of Men & Women. Music on the Hill Artistic Directors Connell and Ellen Dickinson will conduct, and a gala reception will follow.

Suggested donation is $20 per person. The church is at 36 Main Street in Newtown.
