The 53rd Annual Rotary Pancake Day will be held on December 7 in The Alexandria Room of Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street. The Newtown Rotary Club will uphold its annual flipping of pancakes, offering entertainment during the event from many different groups in Newtown.

Rotarians will be serving up the 53-year-old pancake recipe on Saturday from 8 am to 1 pm. In addition to the tasty pancakes, there will be sausage from Butcher’s Best, applesauce, orange juice, milk, hot chocolate, coffee and tea. Members from the Interact Clubs — the student-level clubs sponsored by Rotary — will be serving all patrons.

Cost for adults is $7, and breakfast for children 10 and under is $3.

Children will have the opportunity to visit with Santa Claus, have their picture taken at no charge. Parents can have the photos emailed to them if they wish.

AMBER Alert registration will also be available, free of charge thanks to sponsorships by Associated Refuse and Dental Associates.

Entertainment will be provided by dancers from Lathrop School of Dance, Rotarian Ken Harper will be playing a bit of holiday music at the piano, and Newtown Centre of Classical Ballet will perform Nutcracker vignettes.

Rotary Club will be collecting canned and dry food as well as paper supplies for the kitchen and bathroom, to be donated to FAITH Food Pantry.

Proceeds from the annual event are donated to various charity groups in Newtown and the surrounding area.
