Vincent C. Irving, 83, of Trumbull, died November 30 in St Vincentâs Medical Center, Bridgeport.
He was the father of Cynthia Rose of Sandy Hook.
Mr Irving was born in Bridgeport and was a Fairfield resident for many years before moving to Trumbull in 1965. He was a retired executive for Pepperidge Farm and Campbell Soup. Mr Irving was also a retired professor at the University of Bridgeport and Housatonic Community College. He was a justice of the peace in Fairfield, a member of the Lionâs Club and the Republican Town Committee in Fairfield. Born on August 3, 1916, he was the son of the late Francis E. Irving, Sr and Jessie Beatrice Conley.
Survivors include his wife, Edith (Metzger) Irving of Trumbull; one son, attorney Charles J. Irving of Essex; two other daughters, Pamela J. Hicks of Asheville, N.C., and Marybeth Schwartz of Branford; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The Cyril F. Mullins Trumbull Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, is in care of arrangements.
