Ingersoll Automotive donated ten laptop computers to Newtown High School on December 10, adding to the growing number of computers the company has donated to the school in recent years.

Todd Ingersoll, president of Ingersoll Automotive, and Jen Gilbertie, who oversees community partnerships and social media for Ingersoll Automotive, delivered the laptops to NHS, where Mr Ingersoll’s sons, Jonathan, a sophomore, and Danny, a senior, met them to show support for the effort.

The laptop donations to local schools began in 2011, when two laptops were donated to Bethel High School. From there, the effort grew. Ingersoll Automotive has been donating laptops to NHS since 2012, and it has received ten laptops every year since that first year.

Along with NHS’s ten laptops this year, Danbury High School received 20 laptops, Brookfield High School received five, New Milford High School received five, Watertown High School received 15, the YMCA of Bethel received three, and Pomperaug High School received ten, according to Ms Gilbertie.

NHS Principal Dr Kimberly Longobucco accepted the donation on December 10, saying, “Thank you, so much. It is so tremendously helpful.”

This year’s laptops have black covers that are decorated with a logo for Ingersoll Automotive and sayings like, “believe in yourself,” “make a difference,” and “keep up the good work!”
