Multi-Artist Multi-Media Show

At Minor Library

ROXBURY — The varied work of seven highly praised artists will be exhibited and for sale in a unique show called “The Artist’s Choice” at Roxbury’s Minor Memorial Library.

The show will open with a reception on Saturday, May 26, from 1 to 3 pm. It will then continue until July 3 during regular library hours: Monday, noon to 7 pm; Wednesday, 10 am to 7 pm; Thursday and Friday, 10 am to 5 pm; and Saturday, 10 am to 2 pm.

The eclectic show has been organized by Roxbury artist Georgette Miller, who will exhibit several of her highly imaginative paintings and drawings. “The Artist’s Choice” will also feature such unusual art forms as clay figures including babies, animals and dolls by the well-known Pennsylvania artist Christina Bothwell; geometric abstract sculpture by David Colbert of Cornwall Bridge; clay sculptures of animals by anthropologist artist Gerard Heffernon; “art to wear” (fiber sculptural forms that people can wear) by Ellen Door of Cornwall Bridge; idiosyncratic paintings by Roxbury’s Irene Hardwicke Oliveri; and kinetic sculpture by Cornwall’s Tim Prentice, whose work is inspired by his predecessor, Alexander Calder.

Each artist will show several examples of their work.

Minor Memorial Library, at 23 South Street in Roxbury, can be contacted by calling 860-350-2181.
