'Winter Show 2007' At Gregory James Gallery
âWinter Show 2007â At Gregory James Gallery
KENT â Gregory James Gallery has opened a group exhibit entitled âWinter Show 2007â at its Kent gallery, which will remain on view through Saturday, March 31.
The show will feature the works of many regional artists, including Ralph Della-Volpe, Rainie Crawford, Joseph Grieco, Robert Ferrucci, Anda Styler, and James Coe, among others.
Mr Della-Volpe, a painter of color and form, has a career spanning more than 60 years. His snow filled landscapes of his surroundings in Millerton, New York, often verge on abstraction yet remain rooted in observation of nature.
Mr Grieco, of New York City, is an award-winning member of Salmagundi Art Club and Pastel Society of America. His tonal portrayal of the landscape often evokes a sense of the spiritual.
Ms Crawfordâs pastel still lifes are of vintage items and Oriental objects of art. Her works have been featured in numerous art publications, as well as exhibits across the US and Asia. Her paintings are in the permanent collections of New Britain Museum of American Art and The Butler Institute of American Art.
Mr Coe, of Hannacroix, N.Y., is a dedicated plein aire painter, bird artist, and illustrator. He chooses expansive and often spectacular views in the mid Hudson Valley and Catskill Mountains. Combining realism and impressionism with a rich color palette, Mr Coe starts and finishes many of his oil paintings on site.
Gregory James Gallery Kent is at 25 North Main Street. Winter hours are noon to 5 pm Saturday and Sunday.
