Questioning The Motives Of A School Board Member
Questioning The Motives
Of A School Board Member
To the Editor:
How is it that a Board of Education member hosts a party after the Senior Prom while consciously aware that there was a post-prom party at the school sponsored by the PTSA and supported by dozens of local businesses?
Previously, letters had been sent home to all senior parents politely asking them not to host a party until after the post-prom party and asked for their support as well.
Months of planning went into the activities to assure that the students would have a good and safe party after the prom. Many business members donated gifts to raffle â everything from a computer laptop to a car sound system to certificates to dine, shop, repair cars, nails, and even work on your tan.
Towns surrounding Newtown have well attended post-prom parties at their school or local gymnasium where almost all students attend and continue to âpartyâ with their friends, but in a safe and worry free environment.
This year the PTSA hired hypnotist Steve Wronker, which in the past has packed the auditorium with eager students watching the hilarious show with some of their friends performing on stage. For those of you who missed it⦠itâs your loss⦠it was very amusing and highly entertaining to all who viewed it. It was fantastic.
How is it that as I am returning home from the post-prom party (4:30 am) I see three Newtown Police cruisers at the home of the Board of Education member?
How is it that parents needed to be called because students were not able to drive home after finding beer cans throughout? I find it a little strange that there was a need to take keys from some of those who attended if there was not to be any drinking involved. Again I askâ¦.what was he thinking?
