New Year’s Day From Vienna On

Connecticut Public Radio has added a new show to its holiday programming lineup. On Saturday, January 1, the station will once again broadcast the popular musical presentation “New Year’s Day from Vienna.”

This year’s performance, conducted by Maestro Ricccardo Muti and hosted by WGBH’s Lisa Mullins, will air from 11 am to 1:30 pm.

For 20 years, WGBH Radio Boston has distributed “New Year’s Day from Vienna,” an American broadcast of joyous Strauss family waltzes, polkas and marches. It features Vienna’s traditional musical celebration of the New Year, recorded live just hours earlier at The Golden Hall of the Musikverein.

Connecticut Public Radio can be heard at 88.5 FM (WEDW), 89.1 FM (WNPR), and 90.5 FM (WPKT).
