Chamber Ensemble Seeking
Summer Help
SHERMAN â Sherman Chamber Ensemble is seeking volunteers of all ages to assist at concerts during its 2005 summer season.
Young people and others with an interest in classical music will have the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at the workings of a professional musical organization and take part in the exciting activities of the ensemble during its 23rd season. The repertoire for the summer includes works by Mozart, Haydn, Schumann, Brahms, Bach and others for fortepiano, strings, flute and soprano.
Performances take place in both Kent and Sherman during three weekends: July 8-9, August 12-13 and September 2-3.
Volunteers will help with set-up and technical production, serve as ushers, and perform various other tasks necessary to the successful presentation of the ensembleâs concerts. Single individuals or groups of two or three friends or family members volunteering together may be accommodated.
Volunteer scheduling is flexible â sign up for just one concert to all six.
Those who work at least one concert each weekend will receive a free Sherman Chamber Ensemble T-shirt. Community service credit for school or other organizations may also be arranged.
