To Non-Profit Organizations
DANBURY, CONN. â Charles F. Frosch, president of Union Savings Bank, announced that the bankâs foundation, Union Savings Bank Foundation, Inc., has awarded $68,440 grants to 17 non-profit organizations in western Connecticut.
This foundation was established in 1998 as a vehicle for the bank to provide charitable giving to further support the communities that are served by the bank.
The following is a list of recipients: Family Counseling Center of Newtown; Catholic Family Services, Christian Counseling Center of Danbury; CT Yankee Council â Boy Scouts; Catholic War Veterans Drum Corps, Inc.; Danbury Youth Services; Girl Scouts of Southwestern CT; Housatonic Valley Association; Interfaith AIDS Ministry; Kent Affordable Housing; Mothers Against Drunk Driving; New Milford Interfaith Housing; Shelter of the Cross, The Salvation Army; and the Womenâs Center of Greater Danbury.
The grants committee of the foundation, chaired by Samuel E. Deibler (a Union Savings Bank corporator), has an extremely difficult task sorting through the over $300,000 in requests from 39 different organizations.
