Occupation: I'm a stay-at-home Mom -- well, kind of. I'm a Hospice volunteer,

vice president of membership for Newtown Newcomer's Club, and was involved in

coordinating volunteers and getting family support for Summer Ghent. I am also

a yoga and fitness instructor and personal trainer. But my real love is my

home-based business. As a Creative Memories instructor, I teach people how to

create beautiful and unique photosafe scrapbooks to preserve their previous

memories.

How long in Newtown: My family moved to Newtown in 1971, the day before my

seventh birthday.

Family: I married my high school sweetheart, Dan. We met 18 years ago when I

was 15 and have been married 10 years. We have two children: Danielle, who is

four and one-half, and Timmy, almost three. My father is now living in

Missouri and Dan's parents are here in town.

Pets: Sadly, I had to put my beloved eight-year-old golden retriever, Tasha,

down in January. I was devastated. Then, in February, we got a call from

Animal Welfare about a black Lab puppy. So now we have a 15-week-old puppy we

named Onyx. She's very sweet and great with the kids. We also have an

eight-year-old cat, Pong.

Hobbies: Scrapbooking! Plus a little reading, gardening, and volleyball.

Biggest change in the town: Obviously the overcrowding. I miss the pastures,

fields and open spaces that have now been replaced by huge developments.

Fortunately, the townspeople are incredible! Newtown is filled with wonderful

people who are willing to give of themselves and to band together in times of

need. I am proud to be part of this community.

Personal philosophy: "Often we change jobs, friends and spouses instead of

ourselves." It's always good to learn from our mistakes because then our

mistakes seem worthwhile. I want my kids to know how I've changed and grown

into the person I am today. (That's why I use scrapbooks to) document our

joys, sorrows, achievements and disappointments. The world may be a little

better because I was important in the lives of my family and those I help

create their own family memory albums. To love what you do and feel that it

matters -- how could anything be more fun?
