Newtown Savings Bank Elects Three New Corporators
Newtown Savings Bank elected three new corporators at its annual meeting held at the Waterview in Monroe on Tuesday, April 29.
Mark Aldam is a seasoned executive in the digital and media sectors, currently serving as executive at large and senior adviser to the CEO at Hearst. With over 17 years at Hearst, Aldam has been pivotal in advancing the company’s strategic vision and operational success. As executive vice president, he secured a major corporate investment to enhance Hearst’s eCommerce capabilities. During his tenure, he led initiatives for employee safety during COVID-19, promoted diversity in leadership, and drove investments in digital platforms. As president of Hearst Newspapers from 2011 to 2018, he achieved seven years of earnings growth and significantly boosted digital revenue and audience metrics. Aldam is respected for his expertise in digital media and strategy, with a strong commitment to innovation and inclusivity.
Aldam holds a degree in Business Administration from Boston College.
Doris Latorre, the chief executive officer of Building Neighborhoods Together (BNT), is a distinguished leader in nonprofit administration, community development, and affordable housing, offering over 25 years of expertise. Under her guidance, BNT has propelled its mission to enhance the lives of Connecticut residents by advancing housing stability, financial literacy, and economic empowerment. Latorre is adept in organizational management, grant compliance, fund development, and implementing community-based programs, effectively overseeing BNT’s operations and strategic objectives.
Latorre holds an MBA from Albertus Magnus College and a bachelor’s degree from Sacred Heart University, with certifications in Housing Counseling, Financial Literacy Education, and as a Certified Occupancy Specialist. Fluent in Spanish, she is dedicated to serving Connecticut’s diverse communities and promoting fair housing solutions.
The Reverend John Parille is recognized as an entrepreneur and community leader. Since July 2016, he has served as the senior pastor at Bethel United Methodist Church in Bethel, managing church operations and guiding the congregation. He also holds the position of pastor at Long Ridge United Methodist Church in Danbury since December 2019. As of June 2021, he is the parish coordinator for the CT District of the United Methodist Church, where he assists in overseeing seven churches.
In addition to his pastoral roles, Parille is an accomplished entrepreneur. He launched The Sign Shop/Sign-atra in May 2023, overseeing sign creation and installation. Since 2007, he has led Godfather Promotions, a company dedicated to innovative branding solutions. Furthermore, he founded New Fairfield Press in 1982, offering graphic design services.
In addition to their governance role as part of the Bank’s mutual charter, corporators serve as ambassadors of the Bank in the community.
