Plant An Herb Dish Garden To Snazzy-Up Meals, A 'Timeless Newtown' Program
Grow your own herbs by planting a dish garden to take home on Wednesday, June 4, at 12:30, when The Garden Club of Newtown offers a free program, Plant Your Own Dish Garden to Snazzy-Up Meals.
All are invited to the special event, which will be offered at Newtown Senior Center, 8 Simpson Street on the Fairfield Hills campus.
Pots, plants and soil will be provided, along with guidance on how to care for your little herb garden. Each participant will plant two pots with two plants in each — the perfect size to sit on steps or patio or outdoor table.
Newtown Garden Club member Peggy Townsend will talk about the care and cutting of the herbs, and member Andrea Zimmermann will discuss use of the herbs in cooking and provide a handout with simple delicious recipes using the herbs being planted.
Snacks and treats made with herbs will be available for noshing.
This program is part of the Timeless Newtown events. The Garden Club of Newtown invites anyone interested to attend the community event.
Space is limited and registration required.
Contact Andrea Zimmermann at apzwriter@yahoo.com or 203-200-9745 to register.
