Parks & Rec Turns Up The Volume This Summer With The Summer Concert Series
Every summer, Parks & Recreation hosts several free concerts for families and friends to enjoy. On Thursday nights, starting at 6:30 pm, head over to the Dickinson Memorial Park Bandshell, 50 Elm Drive and Brushy Hill Road, to rock out all night, or at least until 8 pm.
Starting the series on June 26, Sounds of Sinatra will sing the classics from the infamous Frank Sinatra. Reviving the classics will be the Tony T Orchestra and others.
The following week, July 3, the Dirty Martinis will take the stage. The jazz trio plays selections from the classic jazz greats.
Raging Gracefully will perform on July 10. Raging Gracefully is a 5-piece classic rock band from the Fairfield County area.
On July 17, The Saints Band will perform. The band has been together for 25 years and performs “feel good” dance music.
On July 24, My Bother’s Band will entertain the masses.
The final concert in the series will be One Track Mind on July 31. From Supertramp to Steely Dan, Aerosmith to Alanis, the Pretenders to Pink Floyd, Coldplay to Cocker — One Track Mind's play list spans decades and genres that satisfies any musical taste.

Tuesday Tunes
Sponsored by the Friends of the C.H. Booth Library, the Tuesday Tunes concert series is geared towards families and their young children. From 11 am-12 pm, families can dance with their children at Dickinson Memorial Park Bandshell, 50 Elm Drive and Brushy Hill Road.
Steve Elci and Friends will return to Newtown on July 8. Elci performs songs that the crowd can easily sing along with and dance to.
On July 15, everyone’s favorite principal Al deCant will take the stage. deCant’s music is interactive and promotes physical, emotional, and cognitive development in young children.
The BanAnna Band will return to Newtown on July 22. Ben Norton and Anna Delgado are a touring duo that focuses on music and inclusion “for kiddos of all ages, abilities, and identities.” Audience members will have a chance to participate with the duo.
On July 19, Lynn Lewis and Friends will perform. The band dance and sing to familiar songs and some new ones. A conga line may be in store for the children to join.
The final Tuesday Tunes concert will feature Judy Pancoast. Judy is known for her concerts across New England and she has been honored for her work with children by the New Hampshire State Senate.
The rain location for all these concerts will be at the Hawley School Gym, 29 Church Hill Road.
