Family: My mother Eileen and my father Ernest.
Pets: I have two Huskies and a jumping spider named Boo.
How long have you lived in Newtown? My whole life, 23 years.
Work: I have a small business, Endurvinna, which is Icelandic for recycle. I upcycle items and then sell them at local markets. I’m also a security guard, I work at a lab, and I’m still in school. I’m earning my master’s for molecular biology at Central Connecticut State University.
What did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a veterinarian.
If you could spend the day with one person, living or deceased, who would you choose and why? Chester Bennington, from Linkin Park. He was one of my favorite singers and he passed away. I would love to know who he was as a person, and really what inspired him.
Favorite bands? Linkin Park and Slipknot.
What was the most recent concert you went to? $uicide Boys, a punk rock band. Punk rock is my favorite kind of music.
Favorite actor? Matt Damon.
What was the most recent movie you saw in the theater? I just saw 28 Years Later. It was very good — very interesting, and kind of bizarre, but good.
Favorite color? Red
Favorite thing to eat? Soup. I love soup, always. I ate it through the recent heatwave. Canned soup, fresh, whatever, I love it.
Do you have a favorite travel destination? I was lucky and I got to go to the Bahamas. It was absolutely beautiful there, and I love the marine life. I got to see a shark. I was paddleboarding and it was right there next to me.
What is your proudest accomplishment? Finishing my bachelor’s in biology, and doing my master’s now. I never thought I’d do this.
What is something you cannot live without? My family, including my dogs.
What is your favorite thing about Newtown? The Catherine Violet Hubbard Sanctuary. I like walking around and relaxing there. I do the Firefly & Friends event that they host, and I really like doing that.
Personal credo: Try to walk in each other’s shoes.
