My Brother’s Band will headline the next Summer Concert Series show at Dickinson Town Park.

The series, hosted by Newtown Parks & Recreation, continues Thursday evenings from 6:30-8 pm.

My Brother’s Band is scheduled for the evening of July 24.

The rhythm section in the band is Bobby T. Torello on drums and Scott Spray on bass, both in the New England Music Hall of Fame. Torello played with and toured the world with Johnny Winter, Thunderhead, Black Oak Arkansas, Jefferson Starship, and toured with Michael Bolton.

Spray played his first ever professional show to a sold out venue at Madison Square Garden with Ronnie Spector as a very young man. He has continued performing, “with everyone,” says bandmate Tod Willie.

“It’s easier for me to tell you who Scott didn’t play with than to tell you who he played with,” Willie added.

Spray recorded three albums with Edgar Winter and then jumped ship to Edgar’s brother Johnny, playing with him for many years. Scott played with The Rascals, Donna Summer, Slash from Guns N’ Roses, and many others. He also wrote and recorded the theme song for the show “Sex and The City.”

The rest of the band is Jay Willie on lead/slide rhythm guitar and vocals; Ken Hanna on lead guitar, rhythm guitar and vocals; and Tod Willie on lead vocals.

My Brother’s Band performs Johnny Winter and Edgar Winter songs “because we have a lot of fans that want to hear that,” according to Tod Willie. “We played The Norwalk Oyster Festival last September and opened for Southside Johnny and had people from Maryland and Georgia there just to see Bobby and Scott — they were huge Johnny Winter fans.

“Beyond that we do three or four original songs and the rest is just a lot of stuff we enjoy doing — Grand Funk Railroad, Steve Winwood, Ian Moore, James Gang, .38 Special and kind of a mixed bag of things we enjoy doing.”

The Thursday evening shows are performed from the pavilion near the Brushy Hill Road park entrance. There is no fee and all ages are welcome. BYO seating.

One Track Mind is scheduled for July 31. A rain date of August 7 has also been set aside.

The series is sponsored by Newtown Parks & Recreation and Claris Construction.
