Newtown Savings Bank is pleased to announce the following officer promotions:

Julia Douglas — Vice President, Community Relations Officer

Julia Douglas joined the Bank in 2022 as assistant vice president, community relations officer, and has led key community engagement initiatives including the Bank’s charitable giving, the employee volunteer program, financial education outreach, and public relations strategy. Earlier this year, she was added to cross-functional committees that strengthen the Bank’s community outreach and customer-centric culture. Known for her creativity and commitment to service, she serves on the board of Bethel Library and volunteers with Real Food CT.

Toni French — Vice President, Residential Lending Compliance & Loss Mitigation Manager

Toni French joined the Bank in 2018 as a retail lending closing manager and was promoted to residential lending compliance manager, adding oversight of loss mitigation in 2023. She has continued to show an aptitude for professional growth and continues to expand her responsibilities, leading to her promotion to vice president. Known for her expertise and collaborative leadership, Toni serves on the board of New Fairfield Thrift Shop and volunteers with American Cancer Society, Ann’s Place, and Newtown Arts Festival.

Nick Gambardella — Assistant Treasurer, Retail Lending Closing Manager

Nick Gambardella joined the Bank in 2021 as a secondary market specialist and was promoted later that year to retail lending closing manager. Recognized for his leadership and operational expertise, he was recently named assistant treasurer. With broad experience of residential lending, Nick has implemented key improvements in closing operations. He actively volunteers with United Way Day of Action, Junior Achievement, and local community events.
